As the newest elementary in the district, Forest View, was recognized as a 2008 CEFPI Merit award recipient for its integration into its surrounding environment.

The programmatic requirement for the school to serve diverse educational programs was mirrored by the design team’s ability to develop integrated systems to realize the vision for the school. The approach to creating personal learning communities and dynamic common spaces earned Cavelero numerous awards and citations from the design community.

Cleveland High School

The new campus buildings were designed as modern-day interpretations of the historic 1927 school in both structure and styling. The design team was attentive to complementing, and not competing with, the distinct features of the existing building while creating a transition to the expanded spaces. The school offers the flexibility to support personal learning communities, as well as the traditional educational model.

Garfield High School

The 2008 modernization and expansion of Garfield High School preserved the historic attributes of the 1922 building, while complementing it with new spaces to accommodate the school’s advanced learning environments. Unique spaces within the school include vocational, performing arts and technology-driven instructional environments.

Snohomish School District
Glacier Peak High School

In defining the project approach for this new high school, the design team was tasked with developing solutions that 1) were responsive to the community’s, district’s and Design Committee’s input, 2) develop the site in tandem with the new elementary that was constructed on the same parcel of property, 3) present options to infuse sustainable systems into the building and 4) create scalable systems to allow for a future classroom wing addition. Hargis supported these objectives through mechanical consulting design services for the $66,200,000 school.

Snoqualmie Valley School District
Twin Falls Middle School

Located on a 40-acre parcel at the foothills of the breathtaking Mt. Si, Twin Falls Middle School features personal learning communities within its footprint. In developing the approach to meeting the academic program, the team also developed an approach to create flexible, yet secure, common spaces to host community events within the library, gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria in the off-hours.

Lincoln High School

Serving the Tacoma School District since 1991, Hargis has provided professional services to support the district’s advancing capital facility needs. The capital projects at Lincoln High School represent 1 of the 3 high schools we have supported in recent history. The modernization and expansion efforts at Lincoln addressed three overriding criterion for the district: 1) preserving historical buildings, 2) accommodating the academy program curriculum and 3) integrating sustainable features into the facility.
